Jennifer feels unappreciatively aware of the strong possibility that her generally positive outlook on this school year probably stems from:

• The newness of school feeling exciting. Newness is deceptive. Always.
• The fact that she is an upperclassmen and feels (although she is a self proclaimed egalitarian and would never admit to it) excited at the prospect of finally being near the top of the grade / age hierarchy.
• The noticable increase in caffeine she has been consuming. Jennifer hopes that this is not the case.
